TOKYO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar briefly rose above the 114 yen
line Thursday in Tokyo for the first time in a month on speculation that the
U.S. Federal Reserve will continue its credit-tightening campaign.
At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 113.95-98 yen, compared with
Wednesday's 5 p.m. quotes of 113.52-62 yen in New York and 113.24-27 yen in
Tokyo.
It traded between 113.38 yen and 114.04 yen during the day, most frequently
at 113.58 yen.
The euro was quoted at 1.2755-2758 dollars and 145.37-41 yen, against
Wednesday's 5 p.m. quotes of 1.2780-2790 dollars and 145.17-27 yen in New York
and 1.2815-2818 dollars and 145.15-19 yen in Tokyo. Enditem
