JERUSALEM, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Israel will begin to evacuate illegal West Bank outposts in a few weeks, the Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported on Monday.

"The evacuation of the illegal West Bank outposts will begin in a few weeks time," Justice Minister Haim Ramon was quoted as saying.

Ramon said that a ministerial committee, which was set up to find ways to prevent settlers from setting up new illegal outposts, is scheduled to submit recommendations to the government in about one and half months.

"The committee will work to increase the enforcement of law in the territories to bring an end to the current situation and will determine ways to prevent the establishment of illegal outposts in the future," he added.

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Amir Peretzare also members of the ministerial committee, according to the report.

Officials from the defense establishment said that they are preparing for the evacuation of illegal outposts but refused to disclose a specific date, the paper said.

In April, the Civil Administration was reported to have been mapping all the outposts in the West Bank in order to present the government with a plan to demolish illegal buildings. Israel withdrew from the entire Gaza Strip and four settlements in northern West Bank last summer, the first such move in the Jewish state's history.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said that he intends to draw the final borders with the Palestinians by 2010 via quitting isolated settlements in the West Bank while keeping large ones with or without talks with the Palestinian side. Enditem
