China wins mixed double title at Indonesia Open

    JAKARTA, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Xie Zhongbo and Zhang Yawen won the mixed doubles title at the Indonesia Open 2006 after beating Indonesian shuttlers Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir in straight sets on Sunday.

    The fourth-seeded Chinese beat the first-seeded Indonesian players 21-19 and 21-15 in Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia.

    "Defeating them (Nova/Liliyana) in this event makes us proud. We thank the spectators here for their support," Xie Zhongbo was quoted as saying by Antra news agency.

    The Chinese players got a cash prize of 15,250 US dollars, while the runner-up got a cash of 10,000 US dollars. Enditem
