    LONDON, June 3 (Xinhua) -- British anti-terrorist police are busily hunting for a "dirty" chemical bomb allegedly being hidden somewhere and that will be used in a terrorist attack against civilians soon, British newspapers reported on Saturday.

    Police officers found nothing suspicious in an initial search of a house in the Forest Gate area of east London after they launched a major raid to the house on early Friday, shooting one man and arresting another. Intelligence said terrorist suspects might be making bombs or chemical weapons in the house.

    Newspapers including the Sun and the Daily Mirror on Saturday all quoted security chiefs' sayings that they believed a "dirty" chemical bomb had been made by terrorists, and the attack was imminent.

    Possible targets include the underground train network or pubs which will be crowded with fans watching the soccer World Cup tournament starting next week, officers said.

    London suffered a series of suicide attacks by four British Islamist militants last July, with 52 commuters killed. London Police Commissioner Ian Blair said that three similar terrorist plots had been thwarted since, but terrorist groups were planning new attacks. Enditem
