TEHRAN, June 3 (Xinhua) -- European Union High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana is ready to present Tehran the new package agreed by six world powers over Iran's disputed nuclear program, the official IRNA news agency reported on Saturday.

    Cristina Gallach, spokesperson for Solana, made the announcement to IRNA on Friday evening in Brussels, the report said.

    The European Union has established contacts with Iran through diplomatic channels, said Gallach, adding "We are waiting for their (Iranians') response."

    Gallach attached importance to the package agreed in Vienna on Thursday by the five permanent members of the UN Security Councilplus Germany, saying that Solana was ready to visit Iran and convey the substance of the agreement to Tehran.

    She said that the date when Solana was to present the package was not fixed yet, noting that the next days would be holidays in Iran as the country is commemorating the demise of the Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.

    The two-part package contains both incentives to encourage Iran to cooperate and halt uranium enrichment and warning of punishment by the UN Security Council if Tehran does not comply. But no details about the incentives have been unveiled.

    Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insisted on Friday on protecting his country's nuclear rights, but did not specifically mention the proposal by the six world powers.

    Ahmadinejad was quoted by IRNA as saying, "Pressure of some Western countries to force Iran to abandon its right (to nuclear technology) will not get a result."

    "Iran will not abandon its right to peaceful nuclear energy under despite Western pressure," vowed the Iranian president. Also on Friday, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani said Europe should "leave out excuse-seeking and illogical conditions and come back to negotiations and cooperation."

    "Iran is ready for any unconditional, just and in discriminatory negotiations," he was quoted as saying by the state-run television. Iran has repeatedly said that it will not give up its right under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to enrich uranium and produce nuclear fuel for power plant. Enditem
