NEW YORK, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Soaring gas prices are
forcing more than half of the Americans to cut back significantly on how much
they drive, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Friday.
The poll found income makes a big difference in how
much driving one does. For those with an annual income of less than 30,000
dollars, 67 percent said they are driving less, while only 34 percent of those
making more than 100,000 dollars a year are driving less.
As for who is to blame for the rising prices, 90
percent blame oil companies, and 82 percent blame oil-producing countries.
Others blame the president and those who drive gas-guzzling vehicles.
The poll also found that by an almost two to one
margin, American voters think Democrats will do a better job managing gas
prices.
More than 1,500 registered voters were polled last
week. The margin of error is plus or minus two and a half percentage points.
