The death toll from the Saturday's earthquake that hit Indonesia's Yagyakarta and central Java has risen to 6,234, the Social Affairs Ministry said Thursday.

    JAKARTA, June 1 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from the Saturday's earthquake that hit Indonesia's Yagyakarta and central Java has risen to 6,234, the Social Affairs Ministry said Thursday.

    According to the ministry's figures, the number of people injured in the 5.9-magnitude earthquake has increased to 46,148.

    Over 67,000 homes were destroyed and more than 72,000 others were damaged. Enditem
