HELSINKI, May 31 (Xinhua) -- EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana said in Helsinki Wednesday that the EU would put forward "a generous offer" before Iran.

Solana, on a one-day visit to Finland, said that a negotiated outcome on Iran's nuclear program is possible. He met with Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja over the Iranian nuclear issue.

Solana also discussed on Wednesday with Finnish Defense Minister Seppo Kaariainen on EU common security and defense issues.

Kaariainen said that Finland wants in particular to contribute to the development of the EU crisis management cooperation and to the activities of the EU multinational battle groups. Enditem
