KABUL, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A roadside bomb exploded by remote control killed three local employees of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in northeast Badakhshan province on Tuesday, provincial governor Abdul Majid confirmed.

"A driver and two local staffs of USAID were killed when a roadside bomb targeted their vehicle in Daraim district at 10 a.m.local time today," Majid told Xinhua.

"However, two Americans present at the vehicle were safe and sound," Majid added.

Majid also said that he had sent ambulances and troops to take the dead bodies and the two Americans to the provincial capital.

It is second attack on aid agencies in a single day in Afghanistan.
