BANGKOK, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The Royal Thai Army is to send two teams of doctors to join medical teams from the Navy and the Air Force to assist earthquake victims in Indonesia's Yogyakarta, Army spokesman Col. Akkara Tiproj said Tuesday.

The team would comprise 19 medical staff, including surgeons, orthopedists and nurses, he said, adding that medicine and medical supplies will be sent to the earthquake ravaged areas.

Akkara said the Army's special medical teams are due to leave for Yogyakarta Wednesday and will work there for at least 15 days.

The Thai government announced Monday it will donate 100,000 U.S. dollars and 1,000 tones of rice to assist victims of the weekend earthquake in Indonesia. Enditem
