www.chinaview.cn 2006-05-30 13:17:53

CHANGCHUN, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Three miners were killed and one more injured in a coal mine collapse in Liaoyuan City, northeast China's Jilin Province.

The cave-in took place at Jufeng Coal Mine in Dongliao County around 7 p.m. on Monday, killing three miners on the spot and injuring one more, according to Dong Xiaoge, head of Jilin Provincial Bureau of Coal Mine Safety.

The accident took place just following State Administration of Work Safety Director Li Yizhong urging to strengthen coal safety after 56 workers were buried in a coal mine in Shanxi.

Jufeng Coal Mine is a privately-owned, legal coal producing entity.

      The injured is hospitalized.

Cause of the accident is being investigated. Enditem
