Pakistan Air Force to be equipped with latest aircraft, weapons: Musharraf

    ISLAMABAD, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said Monday that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will be equipped with high-tech aircraft and weapon systems to make it strong, effective and operationally ready to ensure the security of the country.

    "The PAF will be equipped with high-tech aircraft and other associated weapons in near future, so that it could effectively perform its role of defending the aerial frontiers of the country," said Musharraf while addressing the concluding session of the two-day PAF Commanders' Conference at the Air Headquarters here, APP news agency reported.

    The PAF Commanders Conference was attended by principal staff officers, field commanders and senior staff officers of the Air Headquarters, and matters pertaining to professional interest wereaddressed during the conference, according to the APP report. Enditem
