Japan to dispatch troops to Indonesia for quake relief

    TOKYO, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Japan will send defense troops to theearthquake-striken Indonesia to provide emergency relief, Kyodo News reported late Monday, quoting the Defense Agency.

    The agency has instructed Ground, Maritime and Air Self-Defen seForces for the relief actions, it said.

    An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale rocked Indonesia's province of Yogyakarta and several parts of Central Java on Saturday morning. The death toll from the earthquake so far has exceeded 5,000 and the quake also left more then 10,000 people injured. Enditem
