SINGAPORE, May 29 (Xinhua) -- A total of 815,000 visitors arrived in Singapore in April this year, posting an increase of 16percent over the same month of last year, according to the figures released by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on Monday.
The number of visitor arrivals from China jumped 41 percent in April from a year ago to reach 97,000, while Australia and the Philippines also saw growth of above 30 percent in the number of visitors to Singapore in the same month.
Indonesia, China, Australia, India and Malaysia were Singapore's top five visitor-generating markets for April, which accounted for 51 percent of the month's total visitor arrivals.
Hotels in Singapore were estimated to register 119 million Singapore dollars (about 75 million U.S. dollars) in room revenue in April, up 25.7 percent as compared with the corresponding month of last year. Enditem |
