SEOUL, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Officials of South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) met on Monday to discuss details for former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung's upcoming visiting to Pyongyang.

    The meeting was held in DPRK's border city of Kaesong between Jeong Se-hyun, South Korea's former Unification Minister, and Ri Jong-hyok, DPRK's vice chairman of the Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.

    The two sides are expected to work out details for Kim Dae-jung's visit, including the size of the delegation, detailed schedule as well as talks between Kim Dae-jung and senior DPRK officials.

    "We need to fine-tune positions today before finalizing the visit plans," Jeong told reporters before leaving for Kaesong, adding "I think we could draw a conclusion within the day."

    "As the two sides have fully exchanged opinions on each other's positions and hopes in the last meeting, we will have to reach a comprehensive conclusion," he said.

    Kim Dae-jung, who paid a historic visit to Pyongyang in 2000 and realized the first-ever inter-Korean summit with DPRK's top leader Kim Jong-il, was expected to visit Pyongyang in late June. Enditem
