WASHINGTON, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Jay Haas claimed his third consecutive title on the Champions Tour on Sunday after winning the playoff at the Senior PGA Championship in Edmond, Oklahoma.
The 52-year-old American edged compatriot Brad Bryant at the third extra hole after the pair had finished level at five-under-par 279.
The veteran got up and down from a bunker to save par and sealed the win when Bryant missed a par putt there from five feet.
Haas had holed a 12-foot birdie putt at the last for a closing 68 to set the target. Bryant, who eagled the par-five 16th, then followed suit with a 25-footer on the same hole to force the playoff with a 71.
Fellow American Gil Morgan settled for third place at three under after battling to a 74 with compatriot Dana Quigley (71) a further stroke back in fourth. Enditem
