BEIRUT, May 28 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese army command confirmed on Sunday that Israeli planes bombed Palestinian bases in eastern Lebanon, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported.
Israeli warplanes fired six air-to-surface missiles at a base of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) in Sultan Yacoub, a village about 5 km from the Lebanese-Syrian border, the army command said in statement, carried by NNA.
The airstrikes also targeted a base in Naameh, some 10 km south of Beirut, the statement added.
The raids came after two Israeli soldiers were injured in an earlier Katyusha rocket attack launched from Lebanon. The Katyushas were fired at a base near the northern town of Safed, a few kilometers further south than in any previous attack known to have landed in Israel.
Israel also confirmed that it carried out airstrikes on targets of the Palestinian group. Enditem |
