GAZA, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Gunmen linked to the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) fired two homemade rockets into southern Israeli town of Sderot early Saturday in response to the killing of an Islamic Jihad leader and his brother in Lebanon.
Saraya al-Quds, armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for the rocket firing in a written statement.
The attack did not cause any casualty.
The statement said Saturday's rocket firing was to retaliate for Friday's killing of Mohammed Majzoub, who represented the Islamic Jihad in southern Lebanon.
It was not immediately clear who carried out the car bombing that killed Majzoub but the Islamic Jihad suspected Israeli intelligence of being behind the attack. Enditem |
