PARIS, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Lleyton Hewitt is set to take his place in the French Open after getting through a training session at Roland Garros.

Hewitt has been in doubt for the second grand slam tournament of the year after injuring his ankle at an Austrian tournament last week.

Hewitt will take on Czech Jan Hernych in the first round, which this year is stretched across Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

The pair have met twice already this year, in Adelaide and Las Vegas. Hewitt won on both occasions, as he did at Wimbledon last year.

Should Hewitt progress as expected, he is on track for a third-round meeting with Dominik Hrbaty from Slovakia and a fourth-round clash with defending champion Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Enditem
