BEIRUT, May 26 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Holy War) official died of wounds sustained in a car bomb in the coastal Lebanese city of Sidon on Friday, security officials said.

Mahmoud Mjzoub, also known as Abu hamza, leader of the Islamic Jihad in Sidon, was seriously injured in the blast and then died of wounds. His brother Nidal was also killed.
A car bomb went off in a highly populated area near the central square of Sidon, 40 km south of Beirut.
It was not immediately clear who carried out the attack. Butthe Islamic Jihad accused Israeli intelligence of being behind the attack. Enditem |
