    BEIJING, May 19 -- Beijing will adjust lending and other policies to cope with surging real estate prices, reacting to a potentially destabilizing scarcity of affordable housing and rising financial risks from property speculation.

Central bank denounces rising down payment requirements

    BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The central bank is not brewing or studying the policy of "raising the down payment for home purchase to 50 percent", the bank's spokesperson told reporters.
