Special report: Crisis between Israel and Palestine

    RAMALLAH, May 24 (Xinhua) -- One Palestinian was killed in clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Wednesday, witnesses said.

    At least four other Palestinians were wounded in the fierce confrontation, said the witnesses.

    The Israeli troops were carrying out an arrest operation in Ramallah, where the headquarters of the Palestinian National Authority is located, they added.

    The Israeli soldiers surrounded a building in central Ramallah and met with confrontations from Palestinians, they said, adding that the Israeli troops withdrew in the wake the clashes. Meanwhile, the Israeli army confirmed the arrest operation. Enditem
