BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhua) - The falling water level in
Kunming Lake, in Beijing's renowned Summer Palace, has aroused the attention of
the world's largest water service provider Veolia.

Environment, said in Beijing on Tuesday that the French company has devised a
specific plan on the lake-bed treatment and waste water treatment in Kunming
Lake. He did not elaborate on the details.
Reports have said that the water-level is decreasing
about two to three centimeters a day.
Officials with Beijing Water Bureau said every year,
the bureauprovides about 40 million cubic meters of water to the city's garden
lakes, and some renowned royal gardens like the Zhongnanhaiand the Summer Palace
have priority.
The Summer Palace is located in Beijing's Haidian
District, about 15 kilometers from the downtown area. Construction of the
gardens was started in 1750 and finished in 1764. It is one of thetop ten
