China, Germany reach consensus on Shanghai-Hangzhou maglev line
BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- China and Germany have reached consensus on technology transfer and other key issues regarding the construction of a four-billion-euro maglev line linking Shanghai and Hangzhou cities in east China, a well-informed Chinese official said here Monday.

German Chancellor arrives in Shanghai
SHANGHAI, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived here on Monday evening for the second leg of her three-day China visit.
In Shanghai, Merkel is scheduled to ride the world's only commercially operating maglev line built with German technology.
China, Germany pledge to improve political dialogue
BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese and German leaders agreed here Monday to start their first round of strategic dialogue this year, as a way to improve political consultations.
"The enhancement of China-Germany ties is an established policy of the Chinese government and serves the common interests of the two countries," Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao told visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
