BERLIN, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The 12 stadiums which will be hosting the World Cup soccer matches are currently having final work done on them, with tents, temporary constructions and all manner of decorations being put up to turn them into genuine FIFA World Cup arenas.

    According to a press release by the organizing committee (OC) on Tuesday, the OC is already planning in minute detail the dismantling and re-use of these temporary installations, and as part of a widely implemented recycling concept, the sale of the various FIFA World Cup fixtures and fittings is already underway.

    "The aim is to make further good use of what in some cases are very valuable temporary installations," said Horst R. Schmidt (photo), Senior OC Vice President.

    "Tables, chairs, electrical components and office and IT equipment will thus be used at other large events, exhibitions or trade fairs." he added.

    The OC has already provided Hamburg auctioneers Dechow in Hamburg with an inventory and price list from their headquarters in Frankfurt and their 12 other offices, enabling various objects to be put up for sale.
