WARSAW, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Poland's most renowned soccer coach Kazimierz Gorski died on Tuesday at the age of 85 after a long and grave disease in Warsaw.

    Gorski led Poland's squad to collect a bronze medal at the 1974 World Cup and an Olympic gold medal and a silver medal.

    Born in Lvov, now in Ukraine, Gorski coached Poland's first national team from 1971 to 1976, overseeing the golden era of Polish soccer that nurtured star players like Kazimierz Dejna, GrzegorzLato, Robert Gadocha and Wlodzimierz Lubanski.

    Gorski started playing soccer before the Second World War as a forward of RKS Lvov, Spartak Lvov and Dynamo. Between 1945 and 1953 he played for Legia Warsaw and since 1956 he has devoted himself to coaching. Between 1966 and 1970 he coached the Poland's U-23 team from which most of medals came. Enditem
