BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- China on Tuesday urged
the United States to ease its restrictions on exports of high-tech products to
China, which holds a pivotal position in bilateral trade.
"China hopes the United States could throw away 'Cold
War' ideology and continually relax its restrictions on exports of high-tech
products to China from the perspective of bilateral cooperation and strategic
relations," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao.
To strengthen cooperation in high-tech field complies
with the interests of both countries and is also highly expected by enterprises
of the two countries, Liu said.
According to Liu, Chinese Commerce Ministry and U.S.
Commerce Department have made positive progress in high-tech and strategic trade
cooperation. China hopes the two sides could maintain the growth momentum and
further increase mutual trust. Enditem
