ROK official says to deny Dalai Lama visa

    SEOUL, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Republic of Korea (ROK) decided not to permit a visit by the Dalai Lama, the Yonhap News Agency quoted an unnamed government source as reporting on Tuesday.

    "I know the authorities have decided not to issue a visa to the Dalai Lama after reviewing South Korea-China relations and similar past cases," an official told Yonhap on condition of anonymity.

    Dalai Lama recently applied for a ROK visa to attend a meeting of Nobel Peace Prize laureates this month.

    ROK has rejected Dalai Lama's attempts to visit the country for several times. Enditem
