HONG KONG, May 22 (Xinhua) -- A strong earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale rocked the northeastern coastal area of Russia at about 7:21 p.m. (1121 GMT) Monday, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.
The epicenter was initially determined to be at 60.8 degrees North Latitude and 165.8 degrees East Longitude, or about 870 kilometers east of Magadan.
