Anders Nordstrom from Sweden will succeed Lee Jong Wook to become the
organization's acting director-general.
Nordstrom was formerly assistant
director-general of the organization when Lee Jong-wook was

morning from a bood clot on the brain.
Lee, 61, a South Korean, was formerly director general of the World Health Organization. He fell ill at a luncheon on Saturday in Geneva at the beginning of a weeklong meeting called the World Health Assembly. Paramedics took him to
the Cantonal Hospital in Geneva, where he had an emergency brain surgery
but died within 48 hours.
