WASHINGTON, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Guard Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks was suspended one game by the NBA on Thursday for punching San Antonio's Michael Finley with 3.4 seconds remaining in the Spurs' 98-97 victory last night.

The victory trimmed the Mavericks' lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference semi-final series to 3-2 with game six on Friday in Dallas with Terry on the sidelines.

Terry averaged 17.9 points a game in the playoffs. He would play on Monday should the Spurs win Friday to force a seventh-game showdown in the matchup between the clubs. Enditem
