Cuban women volleyball team to travel to China

    HAVANA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Cuban women volleyball national teamwill prepare for the World Championship in Japan in November through several matches.

    Olympic bronze medal winner in Athens 2004, the Cuban women team will participate in a tournament in Beijing, China, and will then travel to Montreaux, Switzerland, for another competition.

    The Cubans will participate in the Panamerican Cup in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from June 29 to July 7 and in the XX Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, from July 15to 30.

    Meanwhile, Tamara Larrea, Dalixia Fernandez, Imada Estevez and Milagros Crespo, members of the women sand volleyball Cuban teams, will travel today to Shanghai, China. This sport circuit will include 15 stages in different countries this year.

    Larrea and Fernandez will compete in China, Greece, Switzerland,Norway and France and Estevez and Crespo will compete in St. Petersburg. There will also be competitions in Austria and Poland.   Enditem
