The world's biggest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, returned to Schoenefeld on Friday morning after a test on its new facilities in London's Heathrow Airport.

    BERLIN, May 19 (Xinhua) -- The 2006 Berlin International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA), the largest air show in history, opened to the public on Friday.

    Some 230,000 visitors are expected to visit Berlin's Schoenefeld Airport, where 1014 enterprises from 42 countries are exhibiting the latest aerospace technologies and machinery.

    The world's biggest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, returned to Schoenefeld on Friday morning after a test on its new facilities in London's Heathrow Airport.

    The exhibition grounds in Schoenefeld now cover 250,000 square meters. A further 100,000 square meters have been allocated as viewing areas for air shows.

    The ILA 2006, which run from Tuesday to Sunday, is considered one of the most important events for the industry on the European continent. Enditem
