DOHA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Ticket sales for the Doha Asian Games will start on May 28, the organizing committee has announced.

    Some 1.4 million tickets will be available locally and abroad through authorized Qatar outlets, secure Doha 2006 website, National Olympic Committees, the Olympic Council of Asia and official Doha 2006 ticket agents.

    Tickets are priced between QR 5 and QR 500 (about 1.43 to 143 US dollars), depending on the nature of the event, qualifying/final sessions, the organizing committee said in a press release.

    Ticket sales will be divided into two phases. Tickets for the open and closing ceremonies, individual sport session and selected team sport finals are available in Phrase one which commences on May 28 and lasts through August, while second phase will run from September until the end of the Games, depending on availability.

    No free or discounted tickets will be offered, said the organizing committee.

    The Doha Asian Games will be held Dec. 1-15, 2006. Enditem
