PYONGYANG, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Thursday met with Han Wan-sang, president of the South Korean Red Cross, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
Both sides had a conversation in "a compatriotic atmosphere" atthe Mansudae
Assembly Hall, said the KCNA.
More than 40 members of the delegation headed by Han are from hospitals and
medicine factories in South Korea, according to South Korean media.
One of the aims of Han's visit is to discuss with the Central Committee of
the Korean Red Cross the issue of exchanges of doctors and nurses between the
two sides. During the visit, the delegation will provide a quantity of medicine
and medical equipment to the DPRK, South Korean media reported.
Han's visit will end on Saturday. Enditem |
