ISLAMABAD, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan will get 65 million U.S. dollars from
the World Bank as additional financing for the rehabilitation of highways in the
country, according to a loan agreement signed here Tuesday.
The objective of the additional financing was to assist Pakistan with
sustainable delivery of a productive and efficient national highway network in
order to lower transportation costs, according to the state-run APP news agency.
The money will be spent on improving a 550-km road, an additional 306-km
road and some other road-related arrangements, the APP report said.
