BEIJING, May 16 -- The Chinese tandem Yan Zi and Zheng Jie has won the women's doubles final of the Qatar Telecom German Open.

In the final match of this year's Qatar Telecom German Open, the reigning Australian Open champions ousted the Russian-Italian doubles team Elena Dementieva and Flavia Pennetta, seeded fifth here in Berlin, with 6:2 and 6:3.

But the defeated duo described this appearance in the final as their second most important success in their doubles career after reaching the final in 2005 at the US-Open. Yan Zi and Zheng Jie have pocketed US$59,000 for their first triumph in a Tier I tournament.
