WELLINGTON, May 15 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand's top female bowlers are preparing to take out their second consecutive win at the International Bowls Challenge against Australia and Scotland held here from May 16-18.

Reigning world pairs champions Jo Edwards and Sharon Sims were selected earlier this year to contest the tri-series, as well as 2005 Asia Pacific's pairs bronze medallist Val Smith.

Last year the same trio defeated both the Aussies and Scots 2-1 to take the series and Edwards said they'll be trying hard for a repeat performance.

But the Kiwi women will certainly have their work cut out for them as they will face 2006 Commonwealth Games pairs gold medallists Karen Murphy and Lynsey Armitage as well as Australian bowling stalwart, Maria Rigby.

The Scottish side consists of Margaret Letham and Games pairs silver medallists Kay Moran and Joyce Lindores.

Play begins on Tuesday with New Zealand playing Scotland, and then Wednesday will see New Zealand taking on Australia.

Thursday will see Scotland and Australia go head to head. Enditem
