Shots fired in Haiti' state prison

    PORT-AU-PRINCE, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Shots were fired in the state prison in Port-au-Prince, capital of Haiti on Sunday morningas a riot took place there.

    UN peacekeeping troops in Haiti and Haitian police had taken uppositions around the prison following the escape attempt, and the situation has been brought under control. Until now, it is not clear if there are deaths or injuries in the revolt.

    Haiti's President-elect Rene Preval will officially take over the presidency of the Caribbean republic on Sunday noon. Enditem
