Pedrosa wins maiden MotoGP win in China

    SHANGHAI, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Dani Pedrosa of Spain won the maiden MotoGP title when he took the China Grand Prix here on Sunday.

    The 20-year-old led his American teammate and championship leader Nicky Hayden across the line for a one-two finish for Hondain just his fourth outing in the grand prix racing.

    Colin Edwards finished third, ahead of fellow American John Hopkins on a Suzuki but his Yamaha team mate Valentino Rossi retired four laps from the end with a technical problems.

    The seven-times world champion raced from 13th on the grid and was running fifth when he was forced into the pits.

    Pedrosa's victory broke a run of 12 race victories by Italians,while Hayden finished on the podium for eight consecutive races. Enditem
