Chinese canoeist Gao Fang tests positive for steroids

    BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese canoeist Gao Fang has failed a dope test, the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) said on Friday.

    Gao, 17, was found using banned substance 19-norandrostenedione in a test carried out on April 8, 2006, the COC said in a circular.

    Gao, from south China's Guangdong province, has waived her right to analyze the B-sample, which means the positive result stands, the COC said. Enditem
