WASHINGTON, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Dwyane Wade scored 17
of his 31 points in the first quarter to lead the Miami Heat trounce the New
Jersey Nets 111-89 in Game 2 of their NBA Eastern Conference semifinals on
Wednesday at American Airlines Arena, in Miami.
Wade hit 12-of-19 shots, including 3-of-3 from beyond
the arc, for the Heat, who evened the best-of-seven series at a game apiece with
Game 3 scheduled for Friday in New Jersey.
Shaquille O'Neal added 21 points and six rebounds for
Miami, which rebounded from their 100-88 setback in Game 1 in dominating
fashion. The Heat, who never trailed, hit 52.7 percent of their shots from the
floor, draining 11-of-20 from three, and led by 20 points nearly the entire
contest.
Vince Carter scored 22 points to lead the Nets, who
still hold homecourt advantage despite the setback.
Richard Jefferson, who was listed as doubtful with an
ankle sprain, not only played, but scored 16 points in over 32 minutes of
