GAZA, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Armed clashes between the Fatah movement and Hamas renewed on Tuesday as mourners were burying bodies of two Fatah militants who were killed in a conflict east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis one day earlier, witnesses said.

    Palestinian medics said that four mourners were injured and were evacuated to a nearby hospital in the town, adding that two of them are in serious conditions.

    The witnesses said hundreds of mourners carried the bodies on their shoulders, and then Fatah militants in the funeral exchanged fire with Hamas militants in the area.

    The clashes came after Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ismail Haneya called on the fighting parties to calm down and exercise self-restraint.

    Hamas members and Fatah militants clashed on Monday in the village of Bani Suheila, where three militants, two from Fatah and one from Hamas, were killed and 10 others injured.

    Tuesday morning, clashes renewed between the two factions in Gaza City and 10 people were injured. Enditem
