Special report: Iran Nuclear Crisis

    TEHRAN, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that Tehran is waiting for Washington's response to his letter to U.S. President George W. Bush.

    Ahmadinejad made the remark before his departure for Indonesia to attend a meeting of the D-8 (group of eight developing Muslimstates).

    Ahmadinejad said that his letter carried the Iranian nation's views and comments on international issues as well as suggestions for resolving many problems that face humanity. But he did not disclose the contents of the letter.

    "We will wait to see what would be the reaction of the other side and then we will make the decision," he said. The Iranian president on Monday sent a letter to Bush via the Swiss Embassy in Tehran, which takes care of U.S. interests in Iran. Enditem
