BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) -- About 146 million Chinese people traveled during the Labor Day vacation from May 1 to 7, according to statistics from China National Tourism Administration.

The number was up 20 percent from last year's Labor Day holiday.

The administration estimated holidaymakers generated tourism industry revenue of 58.5 billion yuan (7.4 billion US dollars) this year, up 25.2 percent from last year.
