China shines at international judo tournament in Vietnam

    HANOI, May 7 (Xinhua) - China's selected team ranked first at the two-day international judo tournament which concluded here Sunday, while China's Guangxi team grabbed the fourth place.

    After two days of competition with the participation of 11 teams from seven countries of China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos and host Vietnam, the judokas from China's selected teams bagged home six golds, three silvers and three bronzes, followed by South Korea, Vietnam I, Guangxi, Japan, Laos, Vietnam's Hanoi, Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, Thailand, Vietnam II, and Indonesia.

    South Korea won four golds, three silvers and three bronzes, while Vietnam I gained three golds and five bronzes, and Guangxi grabbed two golds, one silver and one bronze. Indonesian contestants got no medals.

    Some judokas, including China and South Korea, are members of their national teams. Jang Sung Ho from South Korea was a silver medalist at the Athens Olympics in 2004. Enditem
