HYDERABAD, India, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The 39th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) closed here Saturday with a firm commitment to support the Asia-Pacific region in its poverty reduction programs.
The two-day Board of Governors' meeting overviewed the ADB's operations in the past year and discussed the strategies for further support to the region's cooperation, especially in the programs in poverty reduction.
Delegates at the meeting also called for concrete measures by the regional financial institution to ensure the meeting of the Millennium Development Goals as scheduled by 2015.
The next ADB annual meeting of the Board of Governors will be held in Kyoto, Japan, in 2007. Enditem |
