BANGKOK, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A home-made bomb was detonated by unidentified attackers near an army sentry in Thailand's southern province of Narathiwat on Saturday, severely injuring five soldiers.
The blast occurred at 1:25 p.m. (0625 GMT) in Narathiwat's Ra-ngea district while a group of soldiers were searching for some suspected explosives around the area.
Thai FM 94 Radio Station said a number of attackers hiding in the nearby bamboo forest detonated a bomb by mobile phone.
The soldiers and attackers then exchanged fires for about 10 minutes and five soldiers injured. Enditem
