Sepcial Report: Tension accelerates in Iraq
FALLUJAH, Iraq, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Five bodies riddled with bullets were found in Iraq's western volatile city of Ramadi on Friday morning, a local police source told Xinhua.
"Residents in the al-Jazeera area of Ramadi found five unidentified bodies on a local road and the victims were shot dead," said the source from the Anbar provincial police, where Ramadiis located.
The bodies showed signs of torture with bullet holes in the heads and chests, the source added.
A wave of sectarian reprisal attacks and killings between Iraq's Shiite and Sunni communities has swept across the country in the wake of a bomb attack that destroyed a major Shiite shrine in northern Iraq on Feb. 22. Enditem |
