Giaan Rooney calls it quits

    CANBERRA, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Australia's Olympic and world swimming champion Giaan Rooney has announced her retirement.
    Rooney, 23, said she would begin a new career as a television presenter.
    Ronney won her first individual world title in the 200 meters freestyle at the 2001 world championships in Fukuoka and helped Australia win the women's medley relay in the 2004 Olympics. Enditem
